(King ZHU) THE BIO

His name is Phillip Lee Perkins III (King ZHU). His birthday is January 4th, 1993 and is an Indianapolis native.

He is the son of Phillip Lee Perkins Jr. (The Original DJ Flip), and is a single African American male with no children.

His entertainment groups go by the names of MuzikOverMind, 5quad, and Creed Ent., and he goes by the moniker/stage name "King ZHU".

He has many aspirations as when it come’s music. He is naturally a singer/song writer at heart, while honoring the hip-hop culture and producing R&B and Gospel also.

He does not want to be stuck in a booth. He wants to be the product when it comes to most of his music.

He enjoys many genres of music that include: many forms of rock, jazz, pop, country, gospel, hip-hop and R&B.

He also listen’s to other genres of music to give me ideas on what to do next a production, lyrics or practice with instruments. Not the cliché "He  just love’s music". It's mainly just for inspiration on many aspects of music when it comes to the creative part of production for him.

He starting singing when he was just shy of 7 years old and didn't have the confidence it took to sing in public until his early teens he stated.

R&B and hip-hop became a major influence in his life especially if he needed an escape route from life for a while.

He has sung in Bells Chapel church choir for a short while and joined the school choir in 5th grade and continued until his graduation of high school.

As a senior in high school, he had dreams of becoming an R&B recording artist. As the time passed, hip-hop and production made its way into his life. He has also done a little acting, but not much. He was the role of Audrey II in the musical Little Shop of horrors. By having the opportunity and being blessed with the experience of performing on stage, it gave him the confidence of performing in front of a crowd thanks to Connections show choir at Warren Central high school here in Indy. The plan is take that experience to another level.

He has done local shows in the local area of Indianapolis, beginning in the year of 2011.

He has also worked with other local talent and people outside of Indianapolis. Wanting to be able to expand his horizons is a goal of his as well.

At the moment he is attending college as a backup plan, but I am sure he will make it to that time in his life and be able to get to the place, in the not so distant future, where he will be able to say that performing, recording, producing, and writing music is officially his career and he says he intends to keep it strong. He is going to continue his future career with his musical partner’s Chris (Aceon) Bailey and Phillip (Dj Flip) Perkins.
